I'm a mom of 5, yes I said 5. Actually 6, but I can't claim the 6th pregnancy, she's my step daughter. Let's rewind, when I was 16, I weighed around 140 lbs and ran cross country my junior and senior year. I was in the best shape of my life.

Fast forward 16 years, 5 pregnancies,  two marriages, two divorces, a current engagement and 100 pounds later, I'm back at square one, our well square negative 1000.

Crash course of my life, I have a 10 year old (M), 9 year old (L), 6 year old (A), almost 2 year old (J), and a 6 week old (DK). Of course there is my stepdaughter who is 6 (K), and my fiance (D).

The three youngest of my kids live with us full time. One month ago we moved us and the box from Missouri to NY to get a fresh start and be closer to my family. Yes do the math, we drove cross country with an 18 month old and a two week old. I never claimed to be sane.

Once we moved here we decided we wanted to make some lifestyle changes. We quit smoking, have gone back to church and D has decided to study to take the police civil service exam... along with that we have decided to live healthier, and begin to work out. Up until 2011  when I went through my second divorce and moved to Missouri, I used to run. A lot. All the time. I enjoyed it, it was my stress relief.

Well here we are, I'm pushing 240 pounds.  32 years old. We are doing this. By 2016, I will running a marathon. Today was day one. I am starting with the couch to 5k program. Start it with me. You don't have to do a marathon. We will do a little bit at a time. Our goal is to run a 5k by the end of August. That's 8 weeks. This week is simple. Warm up with a five minute walk, followed by 8 reps of 60 seconds running followed by 90 seconds of walking.

Take a picture. You will never be this person again. Share this with everyone you know who needs motivation. Especially mom's. Anyone can find time to work out, and come up with excuses not to. But mom's have the most obstacles in their way, but deserve every moment of feeling like the hot mom... I'll get there... One day.
